I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

...Thomas Jefferson

Are you concerned about the direction of our country and feel you don't have a voice?  I do, so this is my website promoting traditional conservative values where I can say anything I want.

When I was young, most people I knew worked hard for a living and were proud of their work.  If they had to get assistance from the government or anyone, it was an embarrassment.  America's enormous strength has always come from the collective hard work and patriotism of its people, and the drive to overcome one's own problems.  That combined mass effort resulted in a strong economic dynamo and a beneficial national work ethic.  Today, that isn't true.  Too many people are out for all they can get without working for it.  Like most people, I want to see those who can't help themselves get support they need.  But today, a significant number of people who are too lazy to work, or work hard enough, have spilled into the group that truly needs help, leaving less support for those who really need it and a massive national debt.  If someone is too lazy to work, I could care less if they starve.  There's nothing like going hungry for a few days that can instill a work ethic.

Folks used to have a lot of children because they had a business, farm or ranch to run.  Today, many people have a bunch of kids if they live in a condo.  I'm certainly not advocating the restriction of childbirth, but way too many kids are growing up without a work ethic, making them more apt to need assistance later in life and contributing to the population of liberals.  I was raised on a farm, and my dad made sure I had a work ethic - a trait that has made me a productive member of society my entire life.  Today, at 60 years old, I can say I've never drawn welfare, food stamps or unemployment in my entire life.

Our manufacturing base has declined from 30+% of the U.S. economy to about 9% of the economy.  I got my start in manufacturing jobs.  The first day on the job, I was operating machinery, earning a decent wage, and had employee benefits. One company even paid tuition assistance to help with my college education.  Today I have a Bachelor's degree in Economics and an MBA.  Everyone isn't qualified to be a corporate executive.  There needs to be more jobs that the middle class qualifies for.  Much of our manufacturing, however, has moved overseas where regulations aren't excessive and labor rates are cheaper.  American labor unions have helped inflate wages and benefits to the point where much labor is unaffordable.  To justify continued union existence, they must continuously fight for even higher benefits.

Here in Wyoming, a right-to-work state, we have a habit of taking care of ourselves.  In spite of the national economic fiasco, our economy isn't that bad.  And we help each other when we have friends in need.

We need to turn a lot of things around in America or I'm certain the future of our country is in serious peril.  Our country grows weaker by the day, and way too many people aren't smart enough to realize it.  It may be too late, as those expecting a handout are fast becoming a large percentage of the population, and I think they tend to breed more of the same.

This website is a collection of my thinking over a period of many years.  In spite of advanced education, most of it seems like common sense to me and required no advanced education to figure out.  You can agree or disagree with my perspective.  If you are a liberal/progressive, I probably have little use for your point of view - you've done way too much damage to the country already.  Comments received via this website are heavily filtered.
